Sheltered Housing - Yardley

We have two developments in Yardley.

The smaller of the two is situated in the peaceful conservation area of Old Yardley, featuring the iconic St Edburgha’s Church, parts of which date back to the 13th century, and the black and white timbered Trust School, built in the 15th century.

This development was built in 1903, modernised in 1988 and consists of eight bungalows and two flats, as well as a cosy residents’ lounge. This is a classic design for almshouses, dwellings being built in a u-shape around attractive gardens. Despite the age of the development, the dwellings have all mod cons including gas fired central heating and secondary double glazing.

There is a part time scheme manager and every dwelling benefits from an alarm that is connected to a round the clock central control for out of hours emergencies. 24 hour video surveillance is also provided for extra reassurance. Old Yardley Park is a short walk from the development.

Our larger development in Yardley was built in 1984 and consists of 30 one bedroom flats and 1 two bedroom bungalow with a residents’ lounge. Some of the flats overlook a cricket pitch and residents can enjoy the sights and sounds of leather on willow all summer long, unless rain stpos play of course. Residents often get together for social events in the spacious communal lounge but there is no obligation to do so.

Residents have the reassuring presence of an on site scheme manager during office hours and every dwelling benefits from an alarm that is connected to a round the clock central control for out of hours emergencies. 24 hour video surveillance is also provided for extra reassurance.

Although this is a wonderfully peaceful setting, the bustling Yew Tree shopping centre is a only short walk away, while a recently opened Tesco Extra is also within walking distance but the no 11 bus will drop you virtually door to door (although why travel when you can shop online?)
