Exciting Trust News

We are excited to share that after more than three years of close collaboration – including shared leadership and back-office functions – the Trustees have agreed in principle that, from 1 April 2026, Sir Josiah Mason Trust and The Yardley Great Trust Group will formally come together as Mason Yardley Trust (also known as MY Trust).

This marks a significant milestone in the long and proud histories of the charities that make up SJMT and YGT, spanning over 671 years. While we remain deeply rooted in our heritage -particularly our role as Almshouse charities – we are looking ahead with confidence and excitement as a stronger, unified organisation.

Mason Yardley Trust will act as the corporate Trustee for four linked charities:

• Sir Josiah Mason Trust

• Sir Josiah Mason Almshouse Charity

• Yardley Great Trust

• The Yardley Charities

We would like to reassure you that this change is not expected to have a significant impact on the services we provide. The primary changes will relate to governance and administration.

There are no significant changes proposed to staffing arrangements as a result of this announcement, and we will continue to engage with colleagues and their representatives on any proposed changes as part of the ongoing process.

From April, we will introduce:

• New branding

• A new website: www.mytrust.org.uk

• New social media channels

• Updated email addresses ending in @mytrust.org.uk

Please note that our existing websites and email addresses will remain active for at least 12 months to ensure a smooth transition.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the team. We look forward to sharing further updates with you in the coming months.

Kind regards,

David Healey
